Sub-Collector suspends slack official

Madanapalli: Madanapalli Sub-Collector Kritika Batra suspended a technical assistant concerned with the electronic weighing machines in the fair price shops (ration shops), besides cancelling a temporary permit of a dealer after seizing the stock in the shop on Saturday.

Following several complaints against the dealer Kavitha, the Sub-Collector, along with Tahasildhar Sivaram Reddy made a surprise check of the particular ration shop located near the Industrial Estate in town on Saturday.

In the inspection, it was found that 1100 litres of kerosene was less than against what was recorded in the stock register, while rice was 4.79 quintal excess. It was also found that the dealer was selling other items like soaps, oil, jaggery etc.

which was not permitted. This apart, under weighing was also confirmed in the inspection.
The Sub-Collector order the seizure of the stock after sealing the shop and the revenue staff complied immediately.

Speaking on the occasion, sub-collector said that complaints of various irregularities against the ration shop delater were received from the public. She warned to initiate stern action against those indulging in irregularities.

She further said that the technical assistant Satyanarayana who was concerned with checking of weighing machines in the ration shop was placed under suspension for dereliction of duties and an inquiry was also ordered against him.
