Mango Mela evokes good response
Collector N Yuvaraj accompanied by Additional Joint Collector D V Reddy and MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu inaugurated Mango Mela.
Visakhapatnam: A three-day Mango Mela began at MVP Rythu Bazaar here on Thursday. The mela evoked good response as the public stood in queue lines waiting for their turn even before the inauguration of the mela.
Collector N Yuvaraj accompanied by Additional Joint Collector D V Reddy and MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu inaugurated Mango Mela.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that 40 metric tonnes of carbide-free mangoes are ready for sale and urged the people to avail the opportunity.
MLA Ramakrishna Babu said that every year Mango Mela is being organised to benefit the consumers.
The farmers have set up 20 stalls at Rythu Bazaar where the rates were also displayed.
Joint Director Department of Marketing K Srinivasa Rao Deputy Director P Sudhakara Rao, Assistant Director Kaleswara Rao, Special Officer of Rythu Bazaars S T Naidu, Assistant Director of Horticulture Prabhakara Rao Municipal Zonal Commissioner P Nallanaiah and Urban Mandal Tahsildar Lalam Sudhakar Naidu were also present.
