Rajamahendravaram: A trauma care employee working in Rajamahendravaram Government General Hospital tried to commit suicide due to lack salaries for the last six months here on Wednesday.

The employee, R Ganesh, attended duty after consuming pesticide. His colleagues noticed him after he fell unconscious in the hospital.
He is getting treatment in the hospital.

Irked by this, trauma care staff staged a dharna in front of the hospital and shouted slogans against officials. They expressed anger that they were facing severe problems due to lack of salaries for the last six months and unable to feed the family in the city.

They observed that they were not getting salaries due to the negligence of the officials. State president of trauma care employees union Ravi Kumar alleged that the officials of the government hospital were neglecting trauma care employees and demanded for job protection.

He demanded for action on the officials who were responsible for not releasing salaries. He made it clear that the government should release salaries pending from January immediately.
