Vijayawada: Speaking on Nasal Congestion at the weekly health education programme held at Vasavya Nursing Home here on Saturday, ENT specialist PSN Murthy said it became quite common nowadays. “Nasal congestion is often caused by allergies, pollution and viral infections. Cold can be accompanied by nasal congestion. Sinusitis patients and children suffering from adenoids also face the problem.

Smokers and workers exposed to dust and pungent chemicals are more prone to it. Saline nasal spray can be used to relieve congestion. Steam inhalation is an effective home remedy for it, which provides quick relief. Though nasal congestion may not pose serious health risks, it is always advisable to get the problem treated at an early stage,” Dr Murthy said.

Dr G Samaram, former Indian Medical Association national president, presided. Dr Maru proposed a vote of thanks.
