The builders are giving preference for architecture and elevation of buildings as per the demand as several heads of departments started searching for suitable buildings to accommodate their offices.
Vijayawada: As the deadline for shifting of Secretariat employees to the new capital is fast approaching, the housing activity gained momentum both in Vijayawada and Guntur cities.
The builders are giving preference for architecture and elevation of buildings as per the demand as several heads of departments started searching for suitable buildings to accommodate their offices.
Meanwhile, the Vijayawada unit of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India (Credai), is planning to set up a help desk to provide information on apartments and office complexes available both in Krishna and Guntur districts for the convenience of employees shifting from Hyderabad.
Speaking to The Hans India, Credai State president A Siva Reddy said that nearly 10,000 apartments are available both in Vijayawada and Guntur cities and there is no problem if the employees shift to the new capital. He said there is no escalation of prices of apartments as feared by people.
The Credai State president said that they are planning to set up a help desk soon to provide information on the available apartments and office complexes for the benefit of employees and officials shifting from Hyderabad. He said the Credai would provide necessary information to the employees.
He said that the Credai has sent workforce to new Secretariat building at Velagapudi to help the government to complete the construction of the complex as per schedule. He said that the Credai is ready to extend necessary help to government to enable smooth shifting of employees.
He said that Vijayawada city has been witnessing a new trend as builders are giving priority for architecture in construction of buildings. As per the growing demand, the builders are constructing new complexes with good elevation to suit the needs of officials and employees who are searching for accommodation.
A resident of Suryaraopet, K Mohana Rao, said that construction of complexes increased for the past six months in the city with the increasing demand for accommodation.
He said builders are giving preference for high end constructions to suit the needs of people.
Meanwhile, the housing activity gained momentum in suburban areas of both Vijayawada and Guntur cities as the employees prefer to shift to suburban areas as the accommodation is available at cheaper price.
Capital Region Builders Association chairman Gadde Rajling said enquiries are more for lease or rent of buildings as the employees prefer to settle at first before buying a property in the capital region.
He said the increasing land prices and premium price of apartments in the city limits was also discouraging the people from buying flats. He expressed hope that the land prices in the city would come down once the CRDA begins allotment of plots to farmers in capital region.
