Rebuilding of the temple is contemplated by the Endowments department in view of Pushkarams to the Krishna River.  On Thursday, Vedic scholars commenced the operations to enable rebuilding of the temple.

Atmakuru Kurnool : The Kolanu Bharati temple, abode of Goddess Saraswati, built during the Chalukyan period, will be reconstructed as per vastu with Rs 1 crore funds drawn from the Common Good Fund. It will take at least one year for the new temple to come up at its existing site in Nallamala forest region of the mandal.

Rebuilding of the temple is contemplated by the Endowments department in view of Pushkarams to the Krishna River.
On Thursday, Vedic scholars commenced the operations to enable rebuilding of the temple.

Under the supervision of Endowments executive engineer Srinivasulu the energy and power of the temple flag-post and Lord Vinayaka were deposited in a kalasam through a process called Kalavisarjana Kalasam amidst Vedic scholars chanting of hymns.

Under the directions of Sthapati Parameshwarappa (Hyderabad), the new temple will be built. After performing various homas and yagnas old rock images of deities were removed from the temple.

The sanctum sanctorum will remain as it is and also the Srichakra, it is said.
