Austria came forward to extend advanced technology for development of agriculture and water purification in AP. A three-member Austrian delegation led by Georg Zehetner, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission, Austrian Embassy met the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office on Thursday.

Vijayawada: Austria came forward to extend advanced technology for development of agriculture and water purification in AP. A three-member Austrian delegation led by Georg Zehetner, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission, Austrian Embassy met the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office on Thursday.

The Austrian delegation includes Siegfried Weidlich, Commercial officer, Austrian Embassy and Dr Sepp Dabringer, Senior Advisor India, Austrian Power and Environment Technology met the Chief Minister. The Austrian official recalled that Austria was the first country to enter into MoU with united AP in 2003.

The Chief Minister asked the Austrian delegation to extend cooperation for development of agriculture, water purification and tourism and the delegation assured lend technology and said that several industrialists were ready to invest in AP to develop Smart cities.

When the Austrian power and environment technology organization gave a presentation on pest control management using advanced technology, the CM evinced interest on the system and asked the agricultural officials to study the project.

The CM also evinced interest in purification of sewage with low cost technology. When the Austrian team explained about the rubber dams, CM said a rubber dam developed on Janjavathi river was washed away during floods in the past. He said that the government has been developing a rubber dam in Nellore district and sought the technical support of Austria.

Government Advisor Parakala Prabhakar, IDB CEO Krishna Kishore, CM additional secretary AV Rajamouli and Commissioner of Agriculture Dhanunjay Reddy were present.
