government plans to develop Srisailam on par with Tirumala shrine
Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao moved a proposal to introduce helicopter services to Srisailam for the convenience of devotees visiting the temple. They had already discussed the proposal with various agencies to ply helicopter to Srisailam from Gannavaram and Hyderabad.
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to take a decision on the proposal to introduce helicopter services to Srisailam at a review meeting on Srisailam development to be held on July 16.
Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao moved a proposal to introduce helicopter services to Srisailam for the convenience of devotees visiting the temple. They had already discussed the proposal with various agencies to ply helicopter to Srisailam from Gannavaram and Hyderabad.
The Endowments Department feels that if helicopter services are provided, more devotees will visit the famous hill shrine Srisailam on Saturdays, Sundays and other holidays. Minister Manikyala Rao had already explained this to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister is likely to take a decision in the review meeting to operate helicopter for Krishna Pushkaralu. Devotees rush is more in Srisailam. The government has already taken steps to develop Srisailam.
The Endowments Department has already applied for permission to the Central government to start Saiva TV Channel. The SVBC will telecast the programmes of the proposed Saiva Channel.
There is need to construct a separate TV studio. It will come up for discussion in the meeting. The meeting is also likely to take a decision on development of infrastructure and construction of guest houses in Srisailam.
Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao said, "Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will take a decision on the proposal to introduce helicopter services to Srisailam on July 16 at a review meeting to be held on Srisailam development. We have a proposal to develop Srisailam on par with Tirumala in a phased manner.
We have a proposal to operate helicopters to Srisailam from Gannavaram and Hyderabad. We are consulting experts to start Saiva Channel on the lines of SVBC. We will also discuss on construction of guest houses on PPP mode in Srisailam."
