Scores of volunteers including hospital staff and college students also participated in the programme.  

Eluru: The clean and green programme organised by MLC Ramu Surya Rao received tremendous response as many government officials participated in the programme at government hospital here on Saturday.

The Hospital Development Committee chairman and MLC Ramu Surya Rao along with Collector K Bhaskar, Hospital retired superintendent Ravi Gopalakrishna, Government Whip Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan removed the weeds on the hospital premises. Scores of volunteers including hospital staff and college students also participated in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Chintamaneni Prabhakar said that he would provide the bulldozer free of cost to remove the weeds on the hospital premises.

He also assured of providing gravels to level the hospital compound. The Mayor assured that she would arrange special tractors to remove the garbage from the hospital and also take steps to provide proper drainage facility to the hospital. Appreciating the efforts of MLC, the Collector said that he would sanction funds for the development of the hospital.

District Coordinator of Health Services K Shankar Rao, Employees Union Leader K Krishnamachari, Hospital Committee members Sala Veerayya, Alapati Nageswara Rao, Vasireddy Seshagiri Rao, L Venkateswara Rao, Ramakrishna and J Narasimha Rao, Municipal Commissioner Y Sai Srikanth, Health officer Dr Surya Rao and others also participated.Walkers International Club district president Mohan Rao announced that he would donate Rs 10,116 for the development of the hospital.
