Need for physiotherapy council stressed.

Dr Hari Kishore, honorary president of the Prakasam district physiotherapists association said that though the Krnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and many States have the councils of physiotherapy, there is no such council in the State and it is strongly needed for the career advancement of the physiotherapists in the State.
He requested the guests to support their demand for the council at their level and see that the government comes forward for establishing it.
Girinath, founder of the College of Medical Technology, Ongole said that physiotherapy has become part of modern medicine and the Central government has taken a decision to make Yoga also a part of physiotherapy.
He advised the participants to pursue higher education and learn advance techniques for career advancement. MLC Magunta Srinivasulu said that there was shortage of good physiotherapists in the district.
He shared his experience of visiting Chennai and Hyderabad for physiotherapy and asked the participants to learn the latest techniques of the therapy and be available for the patients in the district.
He promised the association that he would talk to the NTR Health University and Health Minister about the establishment of physiotherapy council in the district.
Dr Trivikrama Varma, Prakasam district SP said that consultation of physiotherapists has become a part of treatment and has equal importance with the orthopedician in western countries. He said that the importance of the physiotherapists in the State was also increasing and advised the participants to update their knowledge with more CMEs.
He suggested the members to strengthen the association at the State-level and work on their demand of setting up of council. As part of the CME, Dr B Rajesh, chief physiotherapist in NRI Hospital explained the participants about the techniques in Lumbar Spine Mobilization.
Dr Shaik Dariya Hussain, assistant professor in Hail Univerisity, Saudi Arabia explained the pre and post operation physiotherapy for the heart patients and Dr Srikanth, chief physiotherapist in Narayana Hridayalaya shared about the new trends in neural dynamics physiotherapy.
