Relocation of offices picks up momentum
The shifting process of heads of the departments to the temporary Secretariat in Amaravati has crossed half way mark. Out of 102 HOD offices located in Hyderabad, so far 54 have been shifted to Guntur and Vijayawada. According to sources, efforts were on to shift the remaining 48 HOD offices by the end of August this year.
Hyderabad: The shifting process of heads of the departments to the temporary Secretariat in Amaravati has crossed half way mark. Out of 102 HOD offices located in Hyderabad, so far 54 have been shifted to Guntur and Vijayawada. According to sources, efforts were on to shift the remaining 48 HOD offices by the end of August this year.
“So far, HOD offices of Agriculture, Cooperation, Animal Husbandry and allied wings, BC Welfare, Environment, Forests, Science and Technology, Housing, Information Technology and Communications, Industry and Investments, Planning, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Social and Tribal Welfare, Transport , Road and Building departments were among those which shifted from Hyderabad,” the sources added.
That apart, there are also 66 other wings which need to be shifted. Out of this, so far only eight have been shifted, and 58 more will have to be shifted end August. Meanwhile, a total of 541 officials above the ranks of deputy secretaries and 250 officials above the rank of joint directors have sought for accommodation in Guntur and Vijayawada. So far, accommodation has been provided to 250 women employees in Vijayawada and 20 more, from HOD offices in Guntur, besides 56 male employees.
Upon shifting to the interim Secretariat, senior officials would be provided with accommodation at Rain Tree apartments. On the basis of availability of space, even officials of ranks above joint directors and deputy secretaries would also be considered for allocation of space at Rain Tree apartments, the sources added.
Women employees seeking accommodation either at Vijayawada or Guntur will have to apply for the same online by July 20. Necessary steps would be taken depending on the number of women employees seeking housing before the shifting all the departments by the end of August, the sources said.
