Rajamahendravaram: Second warning issued on Tuesday along River Godavari is still in place at Sir Arthur Cotton barrage at Dowlaiswaram on Wednesday as water level is stable at 14.48 feet. About 14.62 lakh cusecs of water is being discharged into sea by lifting all the crest gates.

Meanwhile, Godavari water entered into 80 lanka (island) villages in 10 mandals of Konaseema on Wednesday and flood water also submerged agriculture fields in six mandals under Amalapuram revenue sub-division for the second day on Wednesday. The Konaseema villages began receiving steady inflows and flood water is entering houses.
The revenue machinery arranged relief camps in many villages to supply essential commodities to the affected population. Meanwhile, coconut plants, banana farms and paddy fields were under a sheet of water and the life of people in 25 major villages has been thrown out of gear from Tuesday night.
Appanapalli causeway in Mamidikuduru mandal and Yedurubidiyam causeway between Inavelli-Muktheswaram have been submerged and people are using country boats to reach their homes.
People of 30 villages have been cut-off from outside world.Amalapuram Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Ganesh Kumar said all necessary steps had been taken to shift people from low-lying areas to cyclone shelters in mandals like Mamidikuduru, Inavilli, Muktheswaram, Mummidivaram and P. Gannavaram where the flood impact is more.
The situation in Addankivari Lanka, Veeravalli Palem, Inavilli Lanka, Yelakallanka, Kondukuduru Lanka, which have been inundated with flood water in Inavilli mandal on Tuesday, remained the same and water did not recede on Wednesday.
P Gannavaram MLA Pulaparthi Narayana Murthy, who said he had visited most of the affected lanka villages on country boats, said that essential commodities were being distributed to all the houses in the affected villages and a holiday was declared for schools on Wednesday.
On the other hand, breaching of canals at some of the places submerged houses in Munjavaram, K. Yenugupalli and Putchalanka village of P Gannavaram mandal. Paddy fields were affected in Appanapalli, Pedapatnam Lanka, B. Doddavaram in Mamidikuduru mandal, Sompalli in Razole mandal. Coconut groves were waterlogged in Bodasakurru and Gopayalanka villages of Allavaram mandal.
Regular traffic was affected among lanka villages as well the travel on river Godavari in entire Konaseema area. The RDO suspended all boat operations from Kotipalli to Bodasakurru area where regularly hundreds of boats operate transporting men and material.
