Youth killed for ‘role’ in woman’s death

Guntur: A 19-year-old woman Jasmin allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Adavula Divi of Nizampatnam mandal on Sunday.

The locals attributed her death to two youth who were charged with visiting Jasmin when inmates were away and beat them up severely. One of the youths Vemulapalli Sai later succumbed to injuries undergoing treatment in a hospital at Repalle.

Relatives of the deceased resorted to staging dharna in front of the hospital accusing the attackers of killing Sai for no fault of his. As a result, tension prevailed near the hospital. The police are investigating the case.
