The project is conceived to realise the tourism potential of the coastline and as a part of it a beach road which will be around 1,000 km abutting the shore, across the nine coastal districts will be built.

Nellore: State government, which is keen to promote tourism, issued notification for Techno-Economic Feasibility (TEF) study for Beach Road Corridor Project, which was proposed between Ichchapuram in Srikakulam and Tada in Nellore.

The project is conceived to realise the tourism potential of the coastline and as a part of it a beach road which will be around 1,000 km abutting the shore, across the nine coastal districts will be built.

The works have been divided into four packages [Ichchapuram-Visakhapatnam (250 km), Visakhapatnam –Narsapur (260 km), Narsapur-Ongole (260) and Ongole-Tada (240 km)] and the agencies are finalised for preparing the feasibility reports.

in consortium with AECOM India Private Limited, are for preparing the feasibility study for all the four packages. Works between Ongole and Tada are underway,” said a senior official from Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP).

Horticulture gardens, pastures, parks, amusement parks, hotels and beach resorts will flank the beach road. The corridor will provide avenues for a wide variety of tourist attractions, logistics hubs, industrial development, manufacturing and services.

The project will be taken up in Public Private Partnership (PPP) or Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) mode, which eases the burden on State exchequer.
