Rajamahendravaram: Confederation of Indian Industry’s Southern Region Chairman and Elico’s Managing Director Datla Ramesh has said domain knowledge and domain expertise is required for students as industry is expecting these things from them.

Speaking at Nannaya University freshers day programme and sensitisation on anti-ragging programme on the University campus here on Saturday, he said that skill needs domain knowledge.

He asked the students to be unique and get different orientation to compete with others. He reminded that by 2020, there would be deficit of 3.5 crore jobs outside India and those having domain knowledge and orientation would get the jobs abroad.

Ramesh felt that the orientation in the field of Research and Development is less in India and that is the reason that most of the top industries are being sold to others.

He added that industries like pharmaceutical, automobile and bio-tech industries are running successfully with reverse engineering technology and also with R & D driven technology.

The CII Chairman suggested to know the changes that are taking place rapidly in the IT and hardware industries. He advised faculty to visit industries to get practical knowledge along with students.

Prof Malakondaiah of Sri Krishna Devaraya University Instrumentation Department said that though the university is small, it can create wonders in very short time and students should get knowledge to take up research work in foreign universities from this university.

Vice-Chancellor of Nannaya University Prof M Mutyala Naidu asked the students to uphold the dignity of the university by strictly adhering to the rules by not indulging in ragging or any other such activity. He asked both seniors and juniors to respect one another. 

University Registrar KS Ramesh, professors S Teki, Matta Reddy, Y Srinivasa Rao and Suresh Varma spoke on the occasion and welcomed the freshers.
