Goshpada Kshetram abuzz with pilgrims

Eluru: Sea of devotees thronged the ghats in the twin Godavari districts, on the day one of Antya Pushkaralu on Sunday. About 40,000 pilgrims took a holy dip in the River Godavari at 59 Ghats in Kovvur, Narsapur, Pattiseema and other areas.

Rajahmundry MP Maganti Murali Mohan formally inaugurated the Antya Pushkaralu by offering prayers to River Godavari at Goshpada
Kshetram in Kovvur. He took a holy dip in the river. Minister for Endowments Pydikondala Manikyala Rao and his family, Minister for
Women and Child Welfare Peethala Sujatha and MLA KS Jawahar also took a holy dip in the river at Goshpada Kshetram and offered
prayers.

District collector K Bhaskar visited Goshpada Kshetram and supervised the arrangements. Local pilgrims offered ‘Pinda Pradanam’ at
Gowtami Ghat in Kovvur.

Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao accompanied Kamalananda Bharathi Swami and formally inaugurated Antya Pushkaralu
by offering prayers to River Vasishta, a tributary of River Godavari at Valandhar Revu Ghat in Narsapur. Local MLA Bandaru Madhava
Naidu, MP Gokaraju Gangaraju also took a holy dip in the river.

Speaking on the occasion Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao said that all necessary arrangements were in place for Antya Pushkaralu.
Municipal chairperson Pasupuleti Ratnamala, joint collector K Koteswara Rao, Narsapur sub-collector AS Dinesh Kumar and others also
offered prayers to the River Vasishta.

Palacole MLA Nimmala Ramanayudu formally inaugurated Antya Pushkaralu in Chinchinada in Yalamanchili mandal. He took holy dip
along with the family members and offered prayers.

In Pattiseema Ghat in Polavaram mandal MLA Modiam Srinivasa Rao stared the holy event. Jangareddigudem RDO S Lavanna, DSP J
Venkatrao and others participated.

In view of Pushkaralu the police department made elaborate security arrangements in all Ghats in the district.
