Hyderabad: Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi will appear on behalf of Andhra Pradesh government to argue in the High Court on the petition on Swiss Challenge method for building AP capital.

State Advocate G Dammalapati Srinivas on Tuesday informed the Court that the Attorney General would be engaged by the State government in the matter.

As reported earlier, a writ plea was filed, questioning the action of the government of AP in refusing to make public the rates quoted by Singapore Company. Though initially the State opposed the writ petition, it later submitted to the court that it would make public the rates proposed.

However in a further development, the Advocate General informed the Court that such rates would only be communicated to the eligible candidates.

On Tuesday, the Advocate General further modified the concession that such communication would be restricted to eligible tenderers and that the petitioner was ineligible and therefore the Swiss bid details would not be forthcoming at the instance of the writ petitioner.

He also informed the court that the Attorney General would be appearing on behalf of the State. Justice M S Ramachandra Rao, who has been hearing the matter, adjourned the same to Friday.
