Kakinada: The all-party meeting organised at Sundarayya Bhavan here on Thursday with Ch Ajay Kumar as the chair expressed concern over the stance being adopted by the State government on the conduct of civic body polls which has been ignoring High Court’s directive.

Seekers pointed out that the State High Court said the election process should be completed on or before September 24 in its directive on April 7 of this year. As per the directive, the division of wards was completed including suburb panchayat Turangi as the same was merged into corporation. But now the local authorities started a fresh division excluding Turangi village as per the directive of municipal directorate.

The sparkers felt that this fresh division not only was against the directive of apex court but also played tactics to postpone the elections. They felt that this is totally against vote directive given by the high court. The representatives later submitted a representation to the District Collector and sent a fax message to the High Court.

Social activist Dusarlapudi Ramana Raju, CPM representative Palivela Veerababu, YSRCP, Kakinada city unit president R V J R, Kumar, BSP district unit president Ch Venugopapal, CPI representative Tokala Prasad, CPI ML Liberation, CPL ML and other party representatives attended the meeting.
