Acting on the instructions of the TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao that there should be a significant improvement in services to pilgrims, each and every department has shown a remarkable development in their respective areas.

Acting on the instructions of the TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao that there should be a significant improvement in services to pilgrims, each and every department has shown a remarkable development in their respective areas.

Some of the achievements during this year’s Brahmotsavams relate to the number of pilgrims, who had darshan, distribution of Anna prasadam etc. 7, 99,430 pilgrims had darshan at this year’s Brahmotsavams against 5, 75,741 last year, registering a 34 per cent increase.

  • TTD receives hundi offerings to the tune of Rs 22.97 cr
  • Departments act on instructions of TTD EO to improve services to pilgrims
  • All major depts show a remarkable increase in revenue over the previous years

TTD netted Rs 22.97 crore revenue through hundi offerings against Rs 17.37 crore last year, recording a growth of 33 percent. 33, 91,403 laddus were sold this year at the festival against 24, 82,155 laddus last year, a 32 percent increase.

Food was served to a total of 24, 59,045 pilgrims as against 14, 89,303 last year and about 3, 83,951 pilgrims offered hair as against 2, 72,794 in 2015. Treatment was offered to 67,821 pilgrims this year against 52,170 last year.

About 338.12lakh gallons of water was consumed this year against 281.7 lakh gallons in 2015. Another area which recorded impressive growth was the Transport department.

APSRTC transported about 4,97,514 pilgrims in the second ghat road (up)as against the previous year’s record of 3,75,269 while 6,95,314 passengers were transported on first ghat road (down) as against 4,95,950 last year.

Revenue generated from the sale of 2017 diaries and calendars stood at Rs 64, 97,936 against Rs 3, 70,005 last year.
