Two get trapped in quicksand, die

Srungavarapukota: Two boys, who went to a water tank to pluck lotus, were got trapped in quicksand and lost their lives on Tuesday in Srungavarapukota mandal of Vizianagaram district.

Inspector Ramanamurthy disclosed that K Sivaji (18), a polytechnic student, and Nageswara Rao (13), a Class VIII student of Punyagiri village near Srungavarapukota, went to local Errabanda tank while plucking lotus flowers they were got trapped in quicksand and died as they could not come out of it.

Later, the locals found them and recovered the bodies from the tank. Local MLA K Lalitha Kumari and others visited the bereaved families and consoled them.
