Kurnool: YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday threatened to withdraw his MPs from Parliament if the Centre does not grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh by the end of budget session.

Addressing Yuva Bheri programme, Jagan said his party MPs would stall the proceedings of Parliament during the ensuing winter and budget sessions demanding the Special Status to the state and would resign if the Centre did not accept their demand.

Accusing Nara Chandrababu Naidu of forgetting his promises after becoming Chief Minister, Jagan alleged that the CM had surrendered to the Central government to save himself from the ‘note-for-vote’ case.

Comparing the Special Status to Sanjeevani, the YSRCP leader said if it was given many people would get jobs as it would help in attracting a large number of industries to the state. In the absence of industries in the state, the youth are moving over to the adjacent states in search of employment, he said.

Jagan said Special Status was necessary for the state as it would help in getting many benefits for the industrialists in the form of tax exemption, excise duty, bank loans at an interest of 25 paise interest, etc.

He said before the elections, Naidu had urged the Central government to grant special category status to AP for a period of 10 years. Now, he has forgotten all the promises he had made to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Later MP Butta Renuka, MLAs Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Y Isaiah, Gowru Charitha Reddy, District Convenor Gowru Venkat Reddy, Katasani Rami Reddy, Hafeez Khan and others spoke.
