Visakhapatnam: In all, 46,395 candidates will appear for the written test of constables recruitment to be conducted by the State Level Police Recruitment Board and 7,748 candidates for the assistant executive engineers’ recruitment test to be conducted by the APPSC on November 6.

Reviewing the arrangements to be made for the two written tests here on Thursday, district revenue officer C Chandrasekhara Reddy disclosed that 76 test centres were set up for the constables’ recruitment test, while 16 for the assistant executive engineers’ test in the district. He said that tests will be conducted between 10 am and 1 pm. He asked the police personnel to make bandobust at the Collectorate strong room where the question papers of APPSC will be kept and at the strong room on the Andhra University campus where the question papers of constable recruitment test will be kept.

He also asked them to provide necessary escort while shifting the question paper bundles to the test centres and impose prohibitory orders under Section 144 of IPC at all the centres. The DRO, who is also acting as a coordinator, directed the RTC authorities to ply adequate buses to all the test centres to benefit the candidates and the officials of transport wing to provide vehicles for shifting question papers and for the flying squads.

The municipal officials were asked to ensure sufficient drinking water facility and furniture at all the centres, the EPDCL officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply and the district medical and health officials to provide first-aid kits by deploying an ANM at each centre.

Andhra University teacher and regional coordinator Prof K Venkata Subbaiah disclosed that all the candidates should reach the test centres by 9.30 am and report to the invigilators and the candidates should note that there will be no grace time.

He said since the attendance of the candidates will be recorded on bio-metric system, the candidates should attend 30 minutes before the stipulated time with hall tickets and no electronic gadgets will be allowed at the centres.
