Visakhapatnam: GITAM University has announced its schedule for entrance test for admission into various courses for the academic year 2017-2018.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Prof M S Prasada Rao said GITAM University is offering 10 B Tech programmes, two dual degree programmes (B Tech+ M Tech) in ECE and Mechanical at all the three campuses.

The B Tech in Biotechnology is being offered in Visakhapatnam campus and B Tech in Aerospace Engineering exclusively at Hyderabad campus. The B. Arch., B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy programmes are offered only at Visakhapatnam campus.

This year the university is starting M.Tech programmes at Bengaluru campus in Cyber Security, Data Sciences, Embedded systems and VLSI Design.

GITAM Admission Test 2017 is a computer-based online test conducted for admission to Post Graduate and Undergraduate Engineering and Pharmacy programmes in GITAM University offered at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam campuses.

The University is successfully conducting this online examination for the last 9 years to select the best talent available in the country. The GAT-2017 consists of separate admission tests for Under Graduate Technology Programmes (UGTP) and Post Graduate Technology Programmes (PGTP) and also a separate admission test for Post Graduate Pharmacy Programmes (PGP). GAT-2017 online test will be conducted at 48 cities across the country.

Online admission test will be conducted from April 16 to April 30, 2017. GATE qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PGT) - 2017, however they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule.

GPAT qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PGP) - 2017, however they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule. The Vice-Chancellor said 100 percent fee waiver would be given to top 10 rankers and 50 per cent waiver for 11 to 100 ranks.

The last date for receipt of filled-in applications is March 31, 2017, online slot booking from April 9 to April 13, download of E-Hall-Tickets from April 9 onwards, online tests at different centres from April 16 to April 30, announcement of test results on May 5.
