Eluru: Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, frequently in news for all wrong reasons, is now targeted by Jana Sena and Pawan Kalyan fans. Jana Sena party workers, fans of Pawan Kalyan and his brother Chiranjeevi staged dharnas and rasta rokos at Tadepalligudem and Jangareddigudem in the district in protest against the recent remarks by the TDP MLA against Pawan Kalyan. They said Chintamaneni had remarked that TDP won the elections on its own and it was not the credit of film star. “If the credit goes to Pawan Kalyan, why his brother Chiranjeevi lost in the elections,” the MLA questioned in a web channel interview recently. This sparked anger among the Jana Sena activists and fans of Pawan and Chiranjeevi.
In Tadepalligudem, Pawan Kalyan fans started agitation by taking out a huge rally with the effigy of Chintamaneni Prabhakar. They reached the main centre in the town and burnt the effigy and blocked traffic for over an hour. They said that Pawan Kalyan was the star campaigner for the TDP and it was voted to power only due to him. They demanded that Prabhakar should withdraw his “derogatory” comments against Pawan or else he would face their fury. The Pawan fans leaders Pavan Balaji, K V Ratnaji and others led the agitation. In Jangareddigudem, Pawan’s fans, Jana Sena workers and Chiranjeevi fans took out a protest rally in the town and staged a dharna at Bose Bomma centre over one hour.
They later tried to burn the Chintameneni’s effigy but the attempt was foiled by police. The fans performed abhishekam to their leader Pawan Kalyan’s flexi at the centre by pouring milk. MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar has been embroiled in a controversy for allegedly attacking a journalist three days ago at Eluru and the journalists began agitation in phased manner demanding action against him. Now it is the turn of Jana Sena workers and Pawan fans to take up agitation against the MLA.
