Visakhapatnam: The patriotic event of ‘Bharat Parv’, which is being organised by the Central government, as part of Republic Day celebrations across the nation from January 26 to 31 began here at the Eastern Naval Command.

Visakhapatnam: The patriotic event of ‘Bharat Parv’, which is being organised by the Central government, as part of Republic Day celebrations across the nation from January 26 to 31 began here at the Eastern Naval Command.

The objective of the event is to generate patriotic spirit to promote rich cultural diversity and ensure wider participation of public to popularise the idea of ‘Ekh Bharat- Shreshtha Bharat’. In pursuant with the new initiative, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) is conducting a string of events to create awareness among citizens.

As part of the Bharat Parv, a mass yoga camp was organised at the Fleet Sports Ground by INS Rana with the assistance of yoga teacher Sonal Chakraborty in which over 750 Navy personnel, including families.

Other activities related to Bharat Parv include a health walk and a cycling expedition on Saturday.

In addition, a ship and the submarine will also be made open to visitors here from 9 am to 5 pm.

School children accompanied by staff and public also may visit the ship and the submarine and during the event, the visitors would be given career counselling and provide information on various entry options for youth joining the Indian Navy.

The ENC is organising a blood donation camp at the INS Circars and also a public performance of military music in Bhubaneswar for the first time on January 31 where the Governor of Odisha will be the chief guest.
Naval ship, submarine open to visitors:

With regard to a Navy ship and submarine to be open to visitors on Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, an official release of ENC informed here on Friday that the entry point will be Pallava Gate near Satavahana bus stop (Pipeline junction), Naval Dockyard.

It said that a control cell and parking facility has been arranged at Dolphin Sports Ground for visitors who must carry a valid photo identity card such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, school ID card, Votor ID or driving licence.

Furthermore, the release advised the visitors not to carry any baggage, handbags, briefcase or any electronic storage devices, including mobile phones with camera, while entering Naval Dockyard.
