Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated Gamesa’s integrated manufacturing facility in Kodavalur mandal on Friday and also inaugurated Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Park at Bodduvaripalem village via remote, set up in 48.7 acres.
The Chief Minister said 12,000 mw would be generated in the coming 10 years with around Rs 65,000 crore. He said there was deficit of 22 million units before the their government came to power. Since June 8 last year, they had started electrification of 100 per cent houses in the State.
Stating that distribution companies also ranked the best in the country, Naidu said EPDCL achieved the first place in the country and SPDCL with fourth position in the ranking by the Centre. He said they had proposed power generation under UDAY scheme for Rs. 8,256 crore.

Transmission and distribution losses were earlier 13.4 pc and it decreased to 9.82 percent which is the lowest in the country, he stated. About 5.44 lakh LED bulbs have been distributed as part of energy efficiency measures in all municipalities and they would be managed with sensor-based mechanism, he added. In a similar way, the state government had distributed 1.78 lakh energy efficient fans in Krishna and West Godavari districts, said the chief minister.
Naidu also said that 9,794 solar pump sets which have been already distributed and installed across the state were yielding good results. He said AP is Sunrise State and there are numerous chances for generating solar energy. He explained that now power is being generated using coal, fuel and others but power can be generated basing on solar energy which is available at free of cost and eco-friendly.
He explained that the government has been giving importance to food processing units in the state under New Vision for Agriculture and inked pacts with 175 groups like Patanjali, Parle and others for setting up their food parks and others manufacturing units. The Chief Minister said that 16 Mega Industrial Projects were set up with Rs.13, 396 cr in the district in the last two years.
There are chances for more projects in the district with its natural setting and there is no scarcity for land, water and power and hence industrial organizations are coming forward to set up units. He said UPI Polymers, Crest Cellulose, Anjani Tiles, and others have started works in the district.
Measures would be taken to inter link Godavari and Penna Rivers to resolve irrigation and drinking water needs of the district, he assured. He appealed to people to support the industrial units as they invest money for generating revenue and provide avenues. He said priority will be given only for local jobless in employment opportunities.
Kovur MLA P Sreenivasulu Reddy urged the Chief Minister to set up agri-based industries in the IFFCO Kisan SEZ. He also requested the CM not to allow chemical based industries in the SEZ as the land and air will be polluted the delta areas.
