Amaravati: Leader of the Opposition in Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said that the party will move no confidence motion against Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.
Speaking to press corps at media point in Assembly, here on Thursday, after staging a walk out along with his party MLAs from the Assembly, over AgriGold issue, Jagan alleged that the government was not ready to conduct judicial probe on the allegations levelled against agriculture minister Prathipati Pulla Rao that he purchased AgriGold properties with a benami name.
Charging the Speaker with diverting the debate on AgriGold scam, he questioned the relevance of playing the video tape of Kodela’s ‘Meet the Press’ in the Assembly. “How is the meet the press programme, which was held 40 days ago related to AgriGold scam,” he questioned.
“Though all sections of media have broadcast and published columns on the remarks made by Kodela on women, the government is targeting only Sakshi,” he said. Commenting on the defected MLAs, “We have asked the Speaker many a time to take action on 21 defected MLAs but he paid to heed to our pleas,” the YSRCP chief lamented.
“Assembly proceedings are going as per the direction of the Chief Minister aided ably by chief whip Kalva Srinivas and Speaker,” he quipped and alleged Naidu of undermining democracy with unilateral decisions.
“The Chief Minister is ignoring problems of the lakhs of AgriGold victims and shamelessly backing agriculture minister Prathipati Pulla Rao. The AgriGold victims, who came to meet Naidu at Assembly on Thursday, were disappointed as the CM has not given any assurance on resolving their problems and doing justice,” he noted.
