COWE felicitates Women who have excelled in various fields ,Call to women to face challenges

Vijayawada: Dr Anagani Manjula, one of the prominent gynecologists and a pioneer in laparoscopic surgeries in the country, called upon the women to fight for their rights.
She said women are on par with men and they should learn skills to maintain balance between the professional and personal life. Anagani Majula, who won Padma Shri in the field of medical research, was felicitated by the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), Andhra Pradesh Chapter, at the Siddhartha Auditorium here on Saturday.
The COWE felicitated 16 prominent women, who achieved success in the field of industry, research, education, sports, fine arts and electronic media.Addressing a gathering at the felicitation function, Dr Manjula Anagani, said success does not come easily for achiever and it comes through hard work and dedication.
She appealed to the women and girl students ‘to believe and love thy self’. She said women are as strong as men physically and recalled women below 40 hardly get cardiac problems where as men are facing such cardiac problems below 25 years. COWE AP Chapter Chairperson Atluri Subhashini and other members felicitated the awardees.
Anagani Manjula (scientific research), Lalitha Raghuram (social activist), Prema Malini (electronic media), A Vasundhara and P Ramadevi (rural entrepreneurs), D Aparna Prasad (fine arts), V Koteswaramma and T Vijayalakshmi (education), M Yasaswini (sports) were felicitated on the occasion.
Former MP Chennupati Vidya, one of the guests, felt reservations under the women’s quota should be given to the talented and efficient women only.She said reservations should not be implemented because of rules, but talented women should be encouraged and given a chance.
Former MP Chennupati Vidya said women empowerment is very important to get economic freedom for women. She further stated that women entrepreneurs to think of expanding their business network. Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Deputy Mayor Gogula Venkata Ramana and others spoke on the occasion.
