Vijayawada: A conference on the sustainable development of future generations was held at a hotel here on Friday. All non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations and other alliance organisations were brought under one roof by Mahitha voluntary organisation, Vijayawada, in association with Andhra Pradesh Alliance for Child Rights and United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF), said Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) S Bala Raju.

He said that to achieve sustainable development goals by 2030 many programmes and activities were to be performed, which include training programmes to the organisations, suggestions and guidance at various levels with the department and resource persons, he added.

He said that selected NGOs, voluntary organisations, child right networks from 13 districts participated in the conference. A workshop was held with all the selected organisations with a target to bring sustainable development in children, he added.

He further stated that an interactive session was held and ideas, views, references, considerations and opinions were welcomed from all organisations at various levels. The main idea behind the programme was to bring the sustainable development activities for children to the government notice, he added.
