The State government has decided to construct about 5,000 houses for the homeless agriculture labourers in the capital region. The State and Central governments will jointly construct houses for the homeless agriculture labourers at 10 places in the capital region for which both the governments will provide Rs 3 lakh subsidy and the remaining Rs 2.5 lakh will be provided as a loan from the banks.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting with CRDA officials at his residence at Undavalli on Saturday, which lasted for three hours.
Disclosing the details of the meeting to the media, Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that the Chief Minister discussed about the progress of works related to capital roads, Administrative City and Education City in the capital.
He said that the Chief Minister has directed the officials of Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to study the possibility of conducting National Games in the upcoming Sports City of Amaravati.
He said the consultancy firm McKinsey has made a power point presentation on the activities to be taken up in the Economic and Sports Cities in the capital region, which will be a part of the nine cities to be constructed.
The meeting has discussed about the Kondaveetivagu and Palavagu reservoirs, for which the tenders’ process will be finalised in the next meeting, Narayana said.
The land acquisition for seed access road for the capital will be completed in 45 days, Narayana said. The Minister said that the Chief Minister has decided to construct a park in an extent of 250 acres at Sakhamuru in the capital region.
He also said that the government is considering construction of buildings without the compound wall for the universities and institutions which are coming up in Amaravati with a view to facilitate direct public access following international standards.
He revealed that VIT University will start its admissions process on July 19 and SRM university admissions will begin in August this year. Admissions for Indo-UK University and Amruthanandamayi University will commence from next year, he said.
Earlier, the representatives of VIT, Amrutha, SRM, National Institute of Design (NID) and other educational institutions made a power point presentation on the progress of works before the Chief Minister.
