Joint Collector G Chandrudu instructed the Women Empowerment and Child Welfare (WE&CW) officers for implementing Anna Amrutha Hastham scheme at all Anganwadi Centres in the district from July 1 onwards to prevent infant and maternal mortality rate by providing nutritious food to the pregnant and lactating women, along with iron and folic acid tablets.

Vijayawada: Joint Collector G Chandrudu instructed the Women Empowerment and Child Welfare (WE&CW) officers for implementing Anna Amrutha Hastham scheme at all Anganwadi Centres in the district from July 1 onwards to prevent infant and maternal mortality rate by providing nutritious food to the pregnant and lactating women, along with iron and folic acid tablets.

He conducted a district-level executive committee meeting over implementation of Anna Amrutha Hastham scheme at the joint collector camp office here on Thursday.Joint collector said that Anna Amrutha Hastham scheme will be implemented in nearly 4,762 Anganwadi Centres in the district from July 1 and the government will provide a meal, including one egg and milk daily,

along with rice dal and vegetables with green leafy vegetables to the pregnant and lactating women.He instructed the Empowerment and Child Welfare for creating awareness among the Anganwadi workers over the implementation of Anna Amrutha Hastham scheme and prepare a data on pregnant and lactating women at Anganwadi Centres in the district.
District Empowerment and Child Welfare officer K Krishna Kumari, DRDA project manager Sarala and others were present.
