Kurnool: District Collector, S Sathya Narayana said that several periodicals are writing about collecting money for issuing certificates to students by the private and government schools. He ordered the Tahsildars and Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) to have an eye on those schools.

He advised the officials through a video conference held from Collectorate on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Sathya Narayana ordered the Mandal Educational Officers (MEOs) to ensure the success of Badi Pilusthondi programme by involving parents in the programme and also suggested to educate people through wide publicity.

He said that the tenth passed out students are facing hurdles from the college managements for getting testimonials. It is learnt they are not served the testimonials until and unless they are paid. He ordered the officials to have an eagle eye on those colleges to erase the rumours that are being published in the news papers. Despite his orders, if he comes across such news, initiating of stringent action would be sure, he warned.

Sathya Narayana said basically the down trodden and middle class students study at government schools and demanding money to issue certificates is an inhuman act. Officials of education department should strive to bring good name to the education field, suggested the official. Joint Collectors, Prasanna Venkatesh, Rama Swamy, District Education Officer (DEO) Tehara Sulthana and other participated at the video conference.
