Training on SC and ST Atrocities Act
Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes & Tribes Commission Chairman Karem Sivaji said that training classes on the SC and the ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act would be conducted for police and revenue officers soon.
Eluru: Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes & Tribes Commission Chairman Karem Sivaji said that training classes on the SC and the ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act would be conducted for police and revenue officers soon.
He received representations from the people of SC and ST castes at the Zilla Parishad guest house here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he opined that due to lack of awareness among the revenue and police on the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the people of SC and ST castes are not getting justice. In view of this, to implement this Act effectively, they decided to impart training for CI and DSP level officers district-wise. After the classes, in second phase, revenue officials would undergo training classes.
He assured the Dalits of Kolleru lake area that soon he would meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and represent on their problems to him and justice will be rendered to them. SC and ST Vigilance and Monitoring Committee member Dasari Anjaneyulu and others accompanied Chairman Karem Sivaji.
