Nellore: Former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi urged the political parties and intellectuals to support former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar in presidential election. Panabaka Lakshmi participated in SC, ST women conference held at Indira Bhavan here on Friday.
Speaking at the meeting, she alleged that YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has no right to blame Congress. Jagan has been trying to cover his faults by blaming the Congress, she said. Narendra Modi’s government has constantly been attacking the minorities for the last one year, she criticised. Panabaka warned that people would teach the NDA government a lesson in the next elections.

BJP presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind had opposed reservations for minority Muslims and also rejected the Ranganath Mishra Commission’s report which proposed reservations for Muslims and other minorities, alleged Panabaka Lakshmi. She also said that state government has been implementing welfare schemes in the name of Chandrababu though they were designed by the central government.
District Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padma warned that Bhumana Karunakara Reddy will face consequences if he continues making allegations against Congress. She also said that the Chief Minister has been running the government on revenue earned of liquor. DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah, senior Congress leaders CV Sesha Reddy, Ch Deva Kumar, U Venkat Rao, Seetharambabu and others were present.
