In a review meeting on tourism, culture and heritage at Secretariat on Friday, chief secretary said the state government is giving priority to complete proposed tourism projects as early as possible to promote tourism sector across the state. Besides the auditorium, a hotel and other facilities would be readied up at Pavitra Sangamam, he said.
He also said Kondapalli fort which is near 16 km to Vijayawada city would be developed destination for cultural heritage tourism. He said the government was thinking that the place could be developed as a military heritage site even to the country.
He also said plans were afoot for establishing the biggest echo museum and open-air museum in Asia and a detailed project report and conservation master plan for the project was also prepared. The Chief Secretary said Havelock Rail Bridge in Rajahmahendravaram which was built 100 years ago would be developed with cost of Rs 116 crore as a tourist place. Shopping zones, food and beverages zones and entertainment zones could also be developed at the spot, he said.
Besides, a decision was also taken to build another Kalakshetram with a holding capacity of 1,000 people at Ghantasala Music College in Vijayawada. The government will also build Kuchipudi Natyalaya at Kuchipudi village of Krishna district with facilities of adance school with international standards, museum, performing art centre, Statue of Siddendra Yogi, movie theatre, digital and music library and open air stage.
