Stating that only by protecting the mother tongue, the survival of linguistic identity of Telugus would be possible, Telugu Dandu convenerParavasthuPhanisayana Suri passed a resolution, which was accepted by all the members unanimously.

A slew of demands made by the Telugu Dandu include primary school teaching in Telugu and English should be taught as a lesson, teaching of Telugu must be made mandatory in all the public and private schools. With GO NO 86/2003, Telugu as a medium of instruction must be continued in all the municipal schools and GO NO 14/2017 should be scrapped and implementation of the recommendations made by the Telugu Conservation Committee should be undertaken.
“These demands will be taken to the notice of the government on Telugu Language Day on August 29,” the members said adding that if the government fails to listen to their demands, a campaign would be taken up from Srikakulam district to Chittoor district. Dr KadimellaVara Prasad spoke on the occasion. Telugu language lovers, poets, artists, scholars and literary critics participated in the event.
