Punish SIs for killing cows; minister tells collector, SP
Minister for Endowments Pydikondala Manikyala Rao directed the District Collector K Bhaskar and Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash to take stringent action against the Sub-Inspectors of Police of Devarapalli and Anantapalli police stations who were responsible for the death of 32 cows recently at Prakasharaopalem in Nallajerla mandal.
Tadepalligudem: Minister for Endowments Pydikondala Manikyala Rao directed the District Collector K Bhaskar and Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash to take stringent action against the Sub-Inspectors of Police of Devarapalli and Anantapalli police stations who were responsible for the death of 32 cows recently at Prakasharaopalem in Nallajerla mandal.
He said that the Goshala organisers, Kondareddy Srinivas and Raghavendra were abused and beaten up by the Anantapalli and Devarapalli SIs over this issue and assured them that he would take up the issue with the State government.
The Minister paid a visit to the Tadepalligudem Government Hospital on Sunday where Kondreddy Srinivas and Raghavendra are undergoing treatment. Later, speaking to the media, he alleged that both the Sub-inspectors have abused Prime Minister Narendra Modi in foul language and it was a very serious issue.
The Minister said that the Goshala organisers Kondreddy Srinivas had handed over the containers with cows that came from Visakhapatnam to Anantapalli and Devarapalli police. However, the SIs have again sent those containers to Kakinada and other areas and again brought them back to Devarapalli.
As transporting the cows took over 36 hours from Devarapalli to Kakinada and again to Devarapalli, the 32 cows died due to lack of food and water. He said that the police did not hand over the cows to the Goshala even when Srinivas asked them. They did not even register cases against the container owners. The minister said that stringent action would be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
