Japanese team for Yarada village
Eisai management team led by President Eisai Sayoko Sasaki, along with Managing Director Sanjit Singh Lamba, and Dr Yoshiyuki Ose, visited Yarada village and interacted with lymphatic filariasis patients on Wednesday.

Eisai Pharmaceuticals India Limited (Eisai India) is a Japanese multinational pharmaceutical company located in Vizag is working with HHC (human health care) mission. Eisai India is supporting the World Health Organisation's global programme to eliminate lymphatic filariasis (LF).
Eisai India has till date supplied DEC tablets manufactured in Vizag to more than 27 countries, including India, through WHO free of cost. There are 52 patients affected by the disease in Yarada village. Eisai is carrying out many vector control activities at Yarada village in close coordination with the health department for the mass drug administration and with GVMC to reduce mosquito menace.
They visited Yarada village to understand the difficulties faced by the patients in their day to day activities to study the collaboration between Eisai India and the state health department and review the sanitation activities carried out by Eisai India in the village. The team distributed specially designed footwear for LF patients as no footwear is available in the market for them due to abnormal foot sizes.
