Dead scorpion found in idly, tiffin centre sealed

Kurnool: In a horrifying incident, a dead scorpion was found in idly, at a tiffin centre in Kurnool on Sunday.According to sources, Ramudu, a resident of Venkanna Bavi in the outskirts of Kurnool purchased two idles for his daughter from a road side hotel in Shareen Nagar.

While eating, his daughter found a dead scorpion in the idly. She immediately brought it to the notice of her father and by that time she had already eaten one idly. The perplexed father immediately took his daughter to a doctor, who on examining said that there was nothing serious and prescribed medicines.

Ramudu, who runs a chicken and mutton centre at Venkanna Bavi along with some other locals went to the hotel where he had purchased the idly and picked up argument.

The hotel owner, Seshaiah, who was in the business for the last five years said there were no such complaints. However, Ramudu brought the issue to the notice of health department officials of the municipal corporation, who on inspection booked a case against Seshaiah and sealed the hotel.
