Farmers stage protest against Aqua Food Park
Farmers have taken up protest rally in Kothapalem on Saturday demanding the government to stop the Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park construction in Tundurru until the construction of a pipeline for the effluents released towards the sea. Eluru: Farmers have taken up protest rally in Kothapalem on Saturday demanding the government to stop the Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park construction in Tundurru until the construction of a pipeline for the effluents released towards the sea. They stopped the trucks that transport the sand to Aqua Food Park in Tundurru of Bhimavaram mandal from Mogalturu. Mogalturu SI K Gurayya reached Kothapalem and discussed with the farmer's leaders.
The farmers did not heed the requests of Sub Inspector and clarified that until an assurance of stoppage of construction of the food park, they won’t allow the trucks to move further.
Later, Narsapur CI P Subbarao reached the village and discussed with the farmers and assured them that he will take up the issue to the notice of higher officials. Later they took some farmers to Narsapur Sub Collector’s office.
Former Sarpanches Kothapalli Anjaneyulu, Lokam Janardhana Rao, Muccarla Ramanjaneyulu, Nippuleti Subash Chandra Bose, Dusanapudi Surya Chandra Rao and others led the protest.
