Visakhapatnam: Preventing air pollution and conservation of power and water are three challenges in the present society and noted experts in these fields are taking up several researchstudies to give a healthy society for the next generation. Joining hands in the massive efforts to control air pollution, conservation of power and water, the Visakhapatnam Government Polytechnic College students show a way to mitigate the challenges.
With the support of their lecturers and guides, the civil engineering students presented a project “Off Shore Fresh Water Reservoir at River Krishna,” the Electrical Engineering Department students successfully presented a novel project saving the energy from the consumption power in the street lighting in the name of “Smart Street Lighting” while the Mechanical wing students exhibited a new initiative to control the pollution levels in the air and also proved how to utilise the influents through a project “Control of Air Pollution.”
The three novel projects drew massive response at the just ended Poly-Tech Fest hosted by the Visakhapatnam Polytechnic College in which 18 polytechnic college students were present to showcase their talents. While interacting with the students, senior professors and faculty members of various engineering colleges lauded the efforts of Young Minds about the projects showing a way to the top ten challenges being faced by the society.
Offshore fresh water reservoir at river krishnaThe civil engineering students G Sandhya, G Jayalakshmi, V Pradeepthi and L Leela Prasad did several exercises on maximum utilisation of fresh waters. They shared their ideology with their guide and senior lecturer in the department PVK Kumar Raju and presented the project “Offshore Fresh Water Reservoir at River Krishna” by constructing a flood water canal from Dhavaleswaram to Krishna Rive where merging into the Bay of Bengal.
Smart street lighting systemConservation of Energy is one of the important topics in the society. Electrical Engineering department students M Ganesh Kumar, Y Mahesh, G YaswanthReddy, V Ashish Kumar, G Sumanth and GN Manikanta Kishore guided by P Srinivasa Rao presented a project.
