Addl 150 cr released for Pithapuram-Kakinada railway line project
The Centre has released an additional Rs 150 crore for the proposed Pithapuram-Kakinada railway line. The land acquisition has been going on for the railway line project. Earlier, it released Rs 50 crore for the project.

Revealing this to newsmen at a media conference held here on Tuesday, Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham and MLA of Pithapuram NVSN Varma said that the land acquisition at some places was not yet through.
At last the dream of TDP founder NT Rama Rao – installing statue of Alluri Sitaramaraju in Parliament Hall – is getting realised, they added. Assurances made to people by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Pithapuram – modernisation of Yeleru Canal, checking floods to the Suddagadda and implementing Purushottapatanam LI Scheme – are being fulfilled one after the other, they said exuding confidence that the Quota for Kapus would also be resolved.
The MLA said that foundation stone for an indoor stadium at Pithapuram would be laid soon.
