Kurnool: Minister for Information and Public Relations (I & PR) and District In-charge, Kalava Srinivasulu called has said that the government has an aim to provide shelter to the homeless people. He advised the people to complete the construction of the incomplete houses. He inspected the incomplete Indiramma Houses which were sanctioned to the down trodden in 2006-07 at Jagannatha Gattu on Thursday.

He visited Jagannatha Gattu and inspected houses and interacted with the beneficiaries. He said that the government will stand by them and will support for the construction of incomplete houses. He also spoke to media and said that the previous government had sanctioned 8,437 houses under Indiramma Scheme in two phases to the beneficiaries.

But it is unfortunate that out of the sanctioned 8,437 houses only 147 houses have been constructed for various reasons. He assured the beneficiaries that the government will sanction an additional amount of Rs 25,000 to each house and advised them to complete the houses. The government will also provide drinking water facility, laying of roads and other facilities and an amount of Rs 70 cr was sanctioned. He further said that bus facilities would be provided besides a police out post.

He suggested the beneficiaries to approach the Housing department officials for assistance. The government is concerned about the welfare of the people and on the direction of Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, he has come to inspect the incomplete houses at Jagannatha Gattu, the Minister added.

Kurnool and Kodmur MLAs, SV Mohan Reddy, Mani Gandhi, KUDA Chairman, Somi Shetty Venkateshwarulu, Municipal Commissioner, Harinath Reddy, Revenue Division Officer, Hussain Saheb and Housing department, Project Director, Venkateshwara Reddy were present.
