The water release will commence from November 2.
District In-charge Minister N Amaranatha Reddy who presided over the meet said that they would discuss the issue with the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to get Krishna water from Pothireddypadu Head Regulator for irrigation and drinking water purposes.
He said measures would be taken to desilt the Kandaleru reservoir enabling to store more water in the water body. Authorities have to create awareness among the farmers to cultivate more than 10,000 acres with 1 tmc of water, said the minister. Minister also explained that the district would receive water during the next two months. Excess water would reach Somasila reservoir in November and December. Steps would be taken to desilt the canals as per request by the ZP members in the district, said Amarnath Reddy.
