Seminar on modern deltas for ONGC
Andhra University’s Delta Studies Institute (DSI) is organising a five-day training programme on field seminar on Modern Deltas for the ONGC executives. The programme consists of field oriented special lectures on the Delta regions of East Coast of India with emphasis on the Godavari Delta.
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University’s Delta Studies Institute (DSI) is organising a five-day training programme on field seminar on Modern Deltas for the ONGC executives. The programme consists of field oriented special lectures on the Delta regions of East Coast of India with emphasis on the Godavari Delta.
The programme is being held from December 11 to 15. Fifteen executives serving in various parts of ONGC establishments are taking the programme. This training programme is being organised by the Delta Studies Institute since 1996 to the executives of the ONGC. The proposed training programme is significant as it would provide field based knowledge of deltas with reference to oil and gas exploration and provides theoretical aspects through lectures at the Delta Studies Institute.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao attended it as chief guest and inaugurated the seminar. AU Registrar Prof V Uma Maheswara Rao attended as guest of honour and stressed on the importance of training programme in the light of importance of KG basin as a potential oil and gas resource. The meeting was presided over by AU College of Science & Technology Principal Prof T Vinoda Rao, who has given the broader aspects of the training programme.
