Addressing the media at Two-Town police station here on Thursday, the Superintendent of Police said that the police have taken up steps to eradicate the criminals in the district and the police personnel were closely monitoring the movement of the rowdy-sheeters.

He reiterated that anyone, who tries to disturb the law and order, peace and tranquillity, would be dealt with an iron hand. He said that the Preventive Detention Act would be registered against such elements and already, the PD Act was registered against six persons.

Referring to the modernisation of the security system, the Superintendent of Police said that the government has sanctioned funds to install 1,000 CCTV cameras in the district and 12 engineers would to pressed into service to install these cameras. In future, She-Teams would be established and plans were on the cards for this, he added.

The Superintendent of Police warned that if anybody was found conducting cockfights in the district, they would be dealt with strictly. According to the directibve of the High Court, the police department would be vigilant against the killing spree. He said the gambling was banned.

Earlier the Superintendent of Police inspected Two-Town police station and enquired on the case details, pending cases, recovery and other issues. He said that compared to that of last year, this year, the performance of Two-Town police personnel has improved.

He said that about 200 cases were still pending in the station and special teams would be established to settle these cases. DSP K Eshwara Rao, Two Town Circle Inspector G Madhubabu, SIs Rama Rao and Jagadeswara Rao were present.
