Kurnool: The Geological Survey of India (GSI) will resume excavation works at Chennampalle Fort from Thursday onwards. The GSI team has been continuing excavation for the last two weeks to unearth hidden treasures.

However, no such treasure was unearthed at the excavation site. As a result, the GSI Assistant Director Raghu Ram, who has come to pursue the hidden treasures, has conducted some surveys with the help of resistivity meters to examine the nature of soil, water flow and other rocky layers.

But it has been reported that the resistivity meter did not fetch the desired results and the excavation work was suspended on Wednesday. Moreover, being Christmas time, the workers also did not show much interest in attending to the works.

It is said that the work is likely to resume from Thursday onwards. It is learnt that Raghu Ram has imported some advanced equipment to detect the minerals lying deep down the soil.

After deploying the machinery, the work will continue till they find some valuable minerals. Meanwhile, the excavations at the ancient fort are drawing flak from the residents of the Chennampalle besides the ancestors of the fort.

Adoni Revenue Division Officer (RDO) Obulesu and the Circle Inspector of Pathikonda are monitoring the excavation at Chennampalle Fort.
