Vijayawada: Krishna district has been selected for the introduction of e-Visit programme under the pilot project to provide good governance and public services. The development works in the villages can be monitored with drones under this project.
The government has selected Vijayawada city and five other villages Atkuru, Peda Parupudi, Kankipadu, Guduru and Pamarru for this project in the first phase.
The condition of roads, garbage, drains, greenery and development of villages would be monitored by using drones under this project, said District Collector B Lakshmikantham. He said the requirement of other facilities and problems of villages could be identified with the support of technology.
The drones also would be introduced in agriculture sector to improve productivity in the district. Fertilisers and pesticides could be sprayed with the help of drones and it would save time, he said. Nearly, 500 acres could be sprayed in one hour, he added.
He asked the farmers to utilise the facility. Already, all the villages in the district were following e-Audit system for monitoring financial issues, he said and added that money and time would be saved by implementing this project.
