Amaravati: YSRCP submitted a representation to Assembly Speaker K Sivaprasada Rao seeking action against Dendulur MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar who was convicted in a case for a period of two years.
YSRC MLAs B Rajendranath Reddy, A Suresh and P Subhashchandra Bose submitted the representation to Assembly secretary on Tuesday. Rajendranath said as per the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, a person who is convicted of any offence and sentenced to undergo imprisonment for not less than two years can be disqualified for a further period of six years from legislative bodies.
