Bureau of Energy Efficiency offers assistance for Energy Conservation Building Code buildings

Amaravati: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a statutory body under Union Ministry of Power, has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), a state designated agency of AP, for construction of energy efficient buildings as per Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) – 2017.
In a release on Monday, APSECM CEO A Chandrasekar Reddy has said that as per the MoU, the BEE will extend its support in facilitating in hiring of consultants which will be operated by SECM, provide financial assistance towards execution of super ECBC model building, organise capacity building and training programmes through workshops and seminars.
Besides, it will also help in developing roadmap and action plan towards construction of energy efficient buildings and enhancing capacity of stakeholders, monitoring of energy consumption pattern of all new and existing government buildings through Energy Monitoring Information System (EMIS), undertaking outreach activities to increase adoption of energy efficiency measures in buildings sector, for creation of action plan development and creation of training resource partner.
APSECM will make appointment of consultants through assistance from BEE, disseminate energy efficient practices through various media like webinars, public forums, coordination with other concerned stakeholders in the state to popularise the impact of incorporation of energy efficiency in building design features and its periodic reporting to BEE about the progress of various building complexes.
